![]() Also, I read comments regarding VueScan and my idea evidently is somewhat different to many folks that do some scanning but I get the best results when using the Epson Scanning software that comes with the scanners (it came with the 2450 and the V700) but may actually be different for the different models. This is to say that I never used Photoshop which evidently is utilizing the TWAIN software. I always use the Epson Scanning software for all scanning. Have you tried loading the Epson Scan Program (EPSON Scan) and see if this works to scan a Photo, Document, or Negative. ![]() Make sure there is a valid source for your scanner in the TWAIN directory found in the Windows directory. When I click on "File/Import/ Epson TWAIN 5 in Photoshop I get this error message- " Could not open the TWAIN source. Vernon- I downloaded the driver you linked to and installed it, but couldn't get it to work. I don't know which version of Win 7 you are using but you could check to see if it has these two areas - both would be in the Drive C:\ area. One is the normal 64 bit programs - (C:\Program Files) - and the other is for the 32 bit versions - (C:\Program Files (X86) - for older programs. The Pro version of Win 7 has two areas for installing programs. I use Win 7 Pro and have been able to install ALL of my older 32 bit software issues as well as utility programs. Had the same issue on Windows 8 and found that Vuescan loaded some genric drivers that work perfectly. I have no way to evaluate for the other Win 7 Versions. I believe the 2450 would install and run on Win 7 Pro. One is the normal 64 bit programs - (C:\Program Files) - and the other is for the 32 bit versions - (C:\Program Files (X86) - for older programs. I had a 2450 but gave it to a Sister-In-Law when I got the Epson V700 scanner. Can someone recommend a fix for this? I do not want to buy a scanner program.įreeman, this probably will not help but thought I should mention anyway. I have been unable to find and install a driver that would make this possible. I have a Windows 7 64 bit computer and would like to use my old Epson 2450 scanner on it.
